Bookmarked | Issue 1

pagedIN is my attempt to document what I read online or offline. It is about how I, as an average Indian reader, look at authors and pages. I try and express what I think about the books, blogs or news I read.

I try and read as many blogs as possible every day. Some of the bloggers do really come up with great posts. BOOKMARKED is my attempt to list some posts I really liked reading. I hope eventually this will help people who visit my blog to read some real good posts.

Here is the first issue of Bookmarked:

Blog: Times Changing
Author: aativas
Post: Building Bridges
Thought after Reading: A post about the author's visit to one of the villages in Orissa. It urges us to open our eyes and look around and see the stark realities of Rural India.
My Rating: ★★★★☆

Blog: Enter the freak's think tank!
Author: Venky
Post: Conquering Mt Semester
Thought after Reading: It is exam time for some bloggers. And that is the time one feels like doing everything else other than studying. That is the time when creative juices flow the most. Venky and his exam blues are fun to read! I smiled to myself when I read his comparison of success and failure!
My Rating: ★★★☆

Blog: Aj's Take
Author: Ajai Ravi Kesavan
Post: Blogger - Trying to get Traffic to my blog!
Thought after Reading: There is nothing a blogger likes other than reading comments from the readers. Ajai's post punches right in the midriff of certain undesirable trends that haunt the blogosphere [when it comes to commenting, yeh] , which no one can change. He gives you a workaround!
My Rating: ★★★☆

Blog: Maverick Misfit
Author: Guria
Post: Bittersweet
Thought after Reading: It is one of those usual tales of love. However you cannot read it without a lump in your throat.
My Rating: ★★★★☆

Blog: BlogAdda
Author: Andrea Mcleod [Guest Author]
Post: Educating the poor is an investment in India's Future
Thought after Reading: What are we going to do this Festival of Lights? Waste our hard earned money on crackers and sweets? Andrea suggests a new way of celebrating this Festival of Lights – help poor children get an education! It is sure going to be an investment in India’s Future!
My Rating:★★★☆☆

Blog: Petals
Author: Swapna Raghu Sanand
Post: Tales of Housework
Thought after Reading: Where I come from, they say, cooking is the key to a successful marriage where a woman is concerned. Swapna explores the cultural differences about that notion!
My Rating:★★★★☆

Blog: If I sang out of tune
Author: Ajay
Post: The Ageing Beaver
Thought after Reading: The author, like a seasoned craftsman, plays with the imagery of 'crossword puzzle' and an "ageing man" to show us how things are falling apart. Posts like this one does not happen every day!
My Rating: ★★★★★

Blog: Hits and Misses
Author: Shruti
Post: Pride
Thought after Reading: It is a simple tale. However, you will never know what the author is up to till you reach the end to read one of the most shocking climaxes I have ever read so far.
My Rating:★★★★☆
